What to Expect in Your Initial Consultation

We understand that if your are searching for a family law attorney, you have likely reached an emotional breaking point.  Our attorneys and our staff understand how difficult this time may be for you.  The purpose of the initial consultation is to diagnose your particular legal needs. To help us better serve you, we ask you to gather as much relevant information as possible before your consultation including the following:

• A list of questions/concerns you have
• A timeline of events
• Date(s) of marriage
• Divorce decrees
• Child support order
• Child custody order
• Court summons and/or petitions
• Dates of reconciliations
• Pre-marital agreements
• Employment information for you and your spouse
• Social security numbers for you, your spouse and/or your children
• Tax returns for the last three years
• Retirement information including pensions, military retirements, 401(k)s, IRAs, Roth  
  IRA(s), etc.
• Estimation of household income
• Purchase price and/or mortgage payments on real estate
• Addresses and telephone numbers for all parties involved
• Any documentation of drug/alcohol/physical abuse
• Criminal records
